Michael J. Schneider is a nationally recognized attorney with over 30 years of experience pursuing justice for clients in Alaska. Our firm diligently represents our clients’ interests in obtaining exceptional verdicts and settlements in complex civil injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, spinal cord injury, and catastrophic injury cases.   

Mr. Schneider is a charter member and past president of the Alaska Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). The mission of ABOTA is to preserve the constitutional vision of equal justice for all Americans and to preserve our civil justice system for future generations. Educating other attorneys in the art of trial advocacy has always been the goal of ABOTA, and Mr. Schneider has been a presenter at a semi-annual education program, “Masters in Trial,” sponsored by ABOTA. It is an honor to be selected and chosen to serve as an ABOTA member. There are currently 13 attorneys in all of Alaska serving as Alaska chapter members.

Mr. Schneider is a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and a former state delegate. He has also served as Alaska’s representative to the national AAJ Board of Governors. He is an active member of the Alaska Academy of Trial Lawyers (former president and current board member). He is a steering committee member and was twice chairman of the Alaska Action Trust, an organization opposing reductions in plaintiffs’ rights and other negative changes in the civil justice system.

He has spoken publicly, written, testified before the legislature, and lobbied extensively regarding the liability insurance crisis. He is the former editor of the Alaska Bar Rag and a contributor on tort and insurance law topics. He is AV Peer Review Rated through Martindale-Hubbell* and is listed in the publication The Best Lawyers in America. In 2002, he was presented with the Board of Governors Professionalism Award by the Alaska Bar Association in recognition of exemplary conduct in his association with the public, his colleagues, and the legal community.

Mr. Schneider is married to Jane Schneider, a firm staff member. Aside from the practice of law, his passions include bow hunting, Alaska’s great outdoors, and piloting his single-engine PA-14.Jane

Jane D. Schneider , legal investigator and office administrator, has worked with the firm since 1992. She has worked in the legal field as a paralegal and client advocate for 20 years. Jane possesses exceptional competence in the case management of personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death claims. Her experience, organizational ability, writing skills, and investigative expertise make her a strong asset to the firm’s productivity and to the service of our clients. Jane is a member of the American Association for Justice, Paralegal Affiliate. She is an honors graduate of the Paralegal Studies program at the University of Alaska. Jane assists in all aspects of trial preparation and has spent numerous hours in the courtroom, where she assists during trials. In her spare time, Jane enjoys all shotgun sports, golf, cooking, and her Carol husky dogs.

Carol McNeese, legal secretary, has worked with the firm since 1998. Carol is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day administrative and secretarial functions, calendaring, telephones, and everything it takes to keep  a law firm running smoothly. She has many years of experience in both administrative and secretarial positions. She is a dedicated professional and a vital asset to the firm. Carol is strongly committed to our clients, and you will find her helpful in every way. Carol volunteers in her spare time with Friends of Pets. She also enjoys gardening with her husband and taking care of her menagerie of furry family members.
