Alaska man involved in pedestrian accident

A pedestrian accident can often end with the victim suffering serious or life-threatening injuries and then being taken to the hospital for treatment. These types of accidents can also leave the person with emotional and mental wounds as well. When a pedestrian is involved in a car crash, it can be very traumatic and can also affect him or her long after the physical scars heal. Unfortunately, a man from Alaska was seriously injured in such an accident recently.

The pedestrian was trying to cross an intersection on Oct. 12 when he was struck by a pickup truck at around 7 p.m. The victim was a 25-year-old Alaskan resident. The driver who struck the man immediately called 911, and emergency personnel arrived soon after.

When police officers arrived, the man was on the ground barely breathing and had been knocked unconscious from the impact of the collision. After emergency personnel arrived, the victim was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. He was then flown to a second hospital located in Anchorage. Further information concerning his condition was not initially reported.

Once the official investigation is complete, the injured Alaska resident may elect to seek monetary reimbursement for the injuries he sustained as a result of the collision. If damages are awarded, they could be used to cover any medical bills the man has accrued while recovering from his injuries. This could ease any financial burdens and allow him to focus on fully recovering instead of stressing about unpaid bills and missed work.
