Alaska resident causes a car accident with a construction truck

The negligence of drivers can often put the lives of those around them in danger. If a driver is inattentive for a split second, it can cause a very dangerous situation to erupt soon after their attention is turned away from the road. This can end up costing the construction company large amounts of money. Unfortunately, a woman in Alaska was reportedly not paying attention to the road and caused a car accident with a parked construction truck, injuring the man inside.

The 29-year-old Alaskan native was allegedly texting at the time of the accident. She collided with the back of a trailer that was attached to the truck. The police stated that the trailer had all the required signs and lights on the back when the collision occurred. The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon further investigation, officers report the woman was intoxicated when she hit the trailer. The sign on the trailer suffered severe damage. The woman was charged with third-degree assault as well as other charges.

Regardless of whether or not the woman is convicted of the charges brought against her because of her involvement in the car accident, the man that was injured may have the right to seek monetary compensation for his injuries. This could help cover any hospital bills that he received because of his injuries as well as supplement his income for any work days missed. Such a ruling could also relieve any stress that he is feeling and allow him to focus on recovering.
