Pedestrian accident in Alaska severely injures 19-year-old man

Hit and run accidents can leave an emotional toll on a victim that is worse than any physical injury that the accident could create. The fact that the victim may never know who hurt them can leave long lasting psychological issues and can change the life of the victim forever. A man in Alaska was injured in a hit and run pedestrian accident in the latter part of September.

The life of a young Alaskan man changed forever on Sept. 28 when he was involved in a serious pedestrian accident. The accident occurred at around 12:30 a.m. when he was struck by a green pickup truck. The truck then drove away, and its whereabouts is still unknown.

The Nikiski resident is 19 years old. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for injuries that were severe but not life-threatening. State troopers are still trying to find the driver of the pickup truck. Investigations are currently underway, but troopers are asking the public to come forward with any information that could help find the driver and solve the case.

When the driver of the pickup is found, he will more than likely face criminal charges for driving away. Furthermore, the victim of the pedestrian accident could pursue a personal injury claim for monetary damages as well, based upon evidence that the pickup driver negligently caused or contributed to the crash.. If the Alaska resident is awarded financial damages, he could use this to pay any hospital bills and related medical expenses. This could relieve an immense amount of stress and allow him to focus on healing and hopefully regaining his normal lifestyle.
