Car accident in Alaska leaves several people injured

Negligent drivers are often the main cause for most accidents, but when negligence is mixed with the inhibited vision that night brings, an accident can suddenly become much more serious. Negligence is never a good excuse for a car accident and, in many cases, if the driver had paid attention to the road, the accident could have been avoided. Unfortunately, one car accident in Alaska recently left multiple people with injuries.

The accident took place on Jan. 23 around 8 p.m. when two cars collided. The driver who supposedly caused the accident -- a 50-year-old man -- had crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle, his passenger and all three occupants of the first vehicle were injured in the collision.

Four of the victims were transported to the hospital by ambulance while the fifth victim -- a minor -- was transported by helicopter to a different hospital. The accident totaled both vehicles, but the condition of the victims was unknown. The collision is still under investigation by Alaska State Troopers.

Once Alaska police have finished their investigation of the car accident, the injured victims may have the right to seek monetary compensation for their injuries. Compensation could be used to pay for any of the victims' hospital bills that resulted from the accident. This could alleviate some of the stress that is often put on victims by new bills and help them recuperate fully. It could also help pay other accident-related expenses until they are able to return to work again.
