Airplanes can be a great way to transport people from one place to another, especially in Alaska where the roads are limited. However, if the pilot acts in a negligent manner for whatever reason, it can quickly create situations that can turn into horrific accidents. These accidents can leave the victims injured or even killed, depending on the severity. Unfortunately, the injuries and fatalities from being involved in an aviation accident have increased for one company in Alaska.
The company has had several recent accidents that are all currently being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. The latest accident took place on April 8, while another recent accident that occurred in November of 2013 consisted of four people being killed and six others injured. These two are combined with two other accidents and an incident that occurred earlier.
The company has had 29 accidents that took the lives of 23 people since 1994, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. The most recent accidents have resulted in the death of six different victims within the past 18 months. All of the accidents were said to be in the fact-gathering stage of the investigation.
Once the investigation of the most recent Alaska aviation accident has been completed, the injured victims may have the right to seek monetary compensation for their injuries. Compensation could be used to pay for any of the victims' hospital bills that they received because of the accident. Hopefully this could allow them to focus on healing instead of worrying about new bills.
