Chase by Alaska State Troopers ends in car accident

A routine traffic stop by Alaska State Troopers turned into an incident that sent two people to the hospital. The car accident occurred in the early morning hours as a driver tried to outrun the officers who were making the stop. Only the driver and his passenger were injured in the car accident.

According to official reports, the driver failed to obey an unspecified traffic law, and troopers indicated they wanted him to stop. Instead of pulling to the side of the highway, the driver sped away, reaching speeds over 100 mph. He drove to another highway, where police continued to chase him as he was driving on the wrong side of the road.

The driver eventually turned off the highway and collided with a pickup truck parked in a driveway. The impact caused considerable damage to both the truck and the car and pushed the pickup into other vehicles. The car caught on fire but was extinguished by a trooper. The driver and his friend had to be cut out of the car and were taken to an area hospital. They are expected to fully recover from the injuries they received.

The effects of a car accident can vary from slight vehicle damage and minor injuries to complete vehicular destruction and fatalities. Pain and suffering stemming from the worst incidents can extend to the family members of the victims. Alaska residents who have been affected by the negligent act of another person may want to speak to a professional about pursuing financial compensation that can be used to pay medical bills, cover wages lost from missed employment or even indemnify emotional suffering.
