Two Alaska men killed in plane crash.

An investigation is ongoing for a plane crash that killed the pilot and his only passenger. The two Alaska residents died after the plane skimmed the tops of some trees and then crashed, bursting into flames. According to one of the National Transportation Safety Board investigators, no one would have been able to survive the plane crash.

A man who lives just minutes from the site of the crash stated he heard the plane attempt to adjust and then hit the ground. He and some family members went as close to the wreckage as they could to look for survivors, but they saw no one thrown from the plane and heard no sounds of anyone calling for help. The heat was extreme, and the man was not able to get close enough to see inside. He believes there was some type of ammunition inside the plane because he began hearing explosions and was even hit by some debris.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene after receiving several reports and were able to extinguish the fire approximately 45 minutes after the plane went down. Investigators say another witness claims the engine lost power before it went down. At the time of a report on the crash, it was not known exactly what went wrong to cause the accident.

A plane crash can occur because of adverse weather conditions, but sometimes they are caused by negligence. If an investigation reveals negligence to be the case, victims of those types of plane crashes have the right to pursue financial compensation, and, if awarded, the money received can be used to eliminate the sometimes costly fees incurred from a crash. Alaska residents who have suffered from the consequences of such an accident may want to seek the services of a professional who will help them obtain a settlement.
