Fire damage impedes evidence collection in Alaska plane crash

Alaska is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the nation for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Recreation activities include water, land and air adventures. Unfortunately, certain pastimes seem to include a higher risk of accidents and injury than others. Anyone who has been injured in a plane crash, motor vehicle accident or seafaring incident may consider filing a legal claim if the cause was another person's negligence.

A recent tragedy occurred when an airplane apparently went down in a heavily wooded region near Anchorage. It was just after 9 a.m. when a person called police to say that sounds of an airplane crash were heard near the roadway. Moments later, smoke was seen in that same area, which raised concerns about a possible wildfire spreading in the forest.

Sadly, four people were killed in the tragic accident. Two were passengers, and the other two were the pilot and co-pilot. Their bodies were recently recovered, but authorities say there was extensive fire damage from post-crash flames at the scene that seems to have destroyed a lot of evidence.

The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating the Alaska plane crash. The aircraft's destination was not known at the time of this writing. In similar situations, immediate family members have taken legal actions with the guidance of personal injury attorneys to seek compensation on behalf of the deceased loved ones killed in aviation accidents. This allows them to request compensation for damages that may include emotional pain and suffering, funeral expenses and loss of consortium, among others.
